Caribbean National Named NewCEO of Cable & Wireless

Mr. Errald Miller

 

For the first time in its history, Cable& Wireless has named a Caribbean person as the Chief ExecutiveOfficer to manage the Cable & Wireless operations in the Caribbean.

He is Jamaican Errald Miller, who is currently President &CEO of Cable & Wireless Jamaica.

Mr. Miller, who has worked in the telecommunications industryfor over 30 years, and holds a MBA from the Nova SoutheasternUniversity, has undergone extensive management training in Jamaica,Sweden and France.

At various times in his career he has been a part-time lecturerat the University of Technology (formerly the College of ArtsScience and Technology) in Jamaica.

Mr. Miller, has served, and continues to serve, on a number ofBoards in Jamaica, and has also received a number of awards, amongthem the prestigious Distinguished Alumni Award from Nova Universityin 1995 - the first Jamaican to be so honoured.

He was also the recipient of the Award of Excellence for sterlingcontribution to Enterprise and National Development from the Universityof Technology. Mr. Miller is also a Justice of the Peace.

In making the announcement, CEO Regional Businesses, Mr. RobertLerwill said: "I view this appointment as one which willhelp us deliver the state-of-the-art telecommunications servicesfrom a global company to Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean."

He added: "This appointment will further equip Cable &Wireless to meet the many challenges that lie ahead in our rapidlychanging business in the Caribbean.
