Leslie Ann Daley Still a topperformer

Leslie Ann Daley was a leading light amongCaymanís long distance runners a few years ago.

However, as has been the case with most of the athletes attendingschool overseas, little mention has been made of her competitiveexploits after it was announced that she received a scholarshipfrom the National Association of Inter-collegiate Athletics toattend athletics powerhouse Lindenwood University in St. Charles,Missouri

Ms. Daley is now attending and running for the University of Memphisin Tennessee, a NCAA Division 1 school and a member of ConferenceUSA.

Although no record is currently available concerning the latterpart of her last cross-country season, she turned in some commendableperformances for the Lady Tigers last fall according to reports.

In her introduction to high-level college competition, she finished30th overall at the two-mile distance to help her team gainedfourth of ninth place in Memphis.

At Chattanooga, she marked up a time of 21:28 over 5K, placing21st as Memphis again placed fourth.

Memphis gained a second-place posting at Arkansas State, as sheclocked 17:04 for four kilometers, ending up in 19th position.

In competition at Southern Illinois University, the Cayman basedharrier was the third finisher for her squad, turning in a 20:11time for 5k and a 40th place finish overal

"It a lot of hard work with the studying and having to traintwice a day with the goal of 60 miles a week, but overall I reallyenjoy the sports," said Ms. Daley.
