Correction
The Editor Cayman New News
Dear Sir,
I refer to the article appearing on page22 in Issue 48 of your newspaper under the caption "The Rightto Vote...is a right to vote in your own country..."
While the caption correctly stated the essence of my letter Iam afraid that the text which followed it was completely incorrect. It states:
"Olivaire Watler, pictured left, sent a letter to the editorsuggesting that the recent elections were not truly democraticbecause non-Caymanians - the majority of the population - werenot allowed to vote".
In fact those were the views contained in Mr. Gordon Barlow'sletter and I wrote in opposition to those views.
I should be grateful if in the next Issue of your newspaper youwould print a correction and apology for the sake of the accuracyof the record.
Yours faithfully,
Olivaire Watler
Editor's Note:
Mr. Watler's opposing view to the letterin question did in fact appear in our issue 37 - "SettingMr. Barlow Straight." We apologise to Mr. Watler for theincorrect reference in Issue 48.
