Law Society Code of EthicsWelcome
Dear Sir,
Having heard the news on Radio Cayman onJanuary 4, 2001 concerning the Law Society forming a Code of Ethics,I would like to take this opportunity to comment.
I strongly encourage and support this move by the Law Societyas my own personal experiences with a certain local attorney hasbeen anything but ethical.
Many government laws and policies seem to be up to the sole interpretationof certain legal representatives who seem to utilise these lawsany way they see fit and often to their own personal benefit.
It continues to amaze me that these attorneys have even at onetime been a part of the system that introduced and passed theselaws.
Many a person, not only myself, have suffered great emotionaland financial distress as a result of the incompetence and manipulationof the legal system. I look forward to the implementation of theCode of Ethics and strongly insist that every lawyer, whetherof status or on work permits, read them out loud each and everytime they practise.
