Texaco Cross Island Relay

The 27th annual Texaco Cross Island Relay,organised by the Hash House Harriers (HHH), has been set for Sunday,4th February with the usual 6:30 a.m. start.

The course has runners beginning the race in Gun Bay, East Endwith a six-member team running four miles each. The individualsleg are: Gun Bay to the Blow Holes; to Frank Sound Junction; tothe old Drive-In Theatre, Bodden Town. From there the course goesto Savannah Meadows and from there to 'By the Sea Condos' in SouthSound, then it's off to the Truman Bodden Sports Complex for theconclusion of the race.

According to organisors, the race began life as the High SchoolCross Island Relay, mainly as an inter-house sports event, buta few years ago the High School dropped out of the picture andthe Hash House Harriers carried on the tradition of organisingwhat is said to be one of the years most popular events.

The Hash House Harriers would like to encourage all sports clubsand runners to come out and support this event. Entry forms areavailable at all Texaco gas stations and members of HHH and AnnElliot at the George Hicks High School. The entry fee is $60 perteam.
