Attention: Walkers,athletes, mothers, fathers, grandparents, sons and daughters -areyou ready for the 'walk of life'.

The Cable & Wireless Cancer Society Half Marathon and 6.5mile walk is set to take place this Sunday starting at the SevenMile Public Beach.

This is your chance to show your prowess or to offer your supportto the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.

"Last year over 1,100 took part and this year we are hopingfor more. Just about everyone in our community has been affectedby this terrible disease and we hope that people will continueto do their part to support the CI Cancer Society and one of theways people can help is to walk," said Tina Trumbach, CorporateCommunications Executive at Cable & Wireless.
To accommodate all fitness levels, the ogranisers have brokenthe walk into two phases. The half marathon (13.1 miles) beginsbright and early at 6:00 a.m. The 6.5 mile walk starts at 8:00a.m.

The starting point for both is the PublicBeach. The half marathon course has walkers into town vie theSeven Mile Beach Road, through George Town Harbour Drive, to SouthSound, turning by the Rugby pitch and down to the Public Beach.The 6 1/2 mile or half walk has participants taking the same course,but the cut-off point is at the Wharf Restaurant and back to thestarting point. The flags along the road's edge mark the entirecourse.

For those interested in taking part there is still time to register.Call the Cancer Society at 949-7618 for more information. Costfor registration is $20. Walkers will receive a T-shirt and anopportunity to win one of 100 prizes.
