CUC ExplainsSunday Outage
Owing to a vehicular accident some GrandCayman residents suffered a power outage that lasted approximatelytwo hours.
Following is a Caribbean Utilities Companyrelease explaining the power cut:
"At approximately 3:45 p.m. on Sunday,January 20, electricity consumers in the South Sound, WalkersRoad, Crewe Road areas and all areas east experienced a poweroutage following a motor vehicle accident. The accident occurredin the vicinity of the Agape Family Worship Centre off Bobby ThompsonWay and affected the Company's main 69KV transmission line feedingthe South Sound and Bodden Town Substations. Power was restoredto all customers by 4:45 p.m.
"The Company regrets any inconvenienceto customers in the affected areas."
