Schwannah Mc-Carthy is expected to beginher intercollegiate track and field career for Rice Universitythis weekend with participation in the Houston Invitational Indoor21 Meet.
Kareem Streete-Thompson may compete at theHouston Invitational. If not, it is probable that his 2002 indoorbattles will begin on the European scene, most likely in the FlandersInvitational in Ghent, Belgium on Sunday, February 10, and thenin Birmingham, England a week later. It is expected that Kareemwill participate in the 60-meter dash and the long jump in hisvarious appearances on the European circuit.
Calicia Burke continues to post high marksin her first season of competition for Fairleigh Dickinson University.Last weekend she turned in her second best long jump result forher short collegiate history. Her effort of seventeen feet, elevenand one-half inches earned her fourth place at the Manhattan CollegeInvitational in New York City.
She will be back in the Big Apple on Fridayto take part in the Fordham Invitational.
Eric Webster is scheduled to depart on Fridayto enroll at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut,where he hopes to compete in the sprints and the long jump forthe Huskies.
