DrSwanberg at First Baptist Church

 

Dr Dennis Swanberg

Dr. Dennis Swanberg, affectionatelyknown to his TV audience as 'The Swan', will be at First BaptistChurch Monday, 18 February, for a spiritual session for whichdoors open at 6:30 p.m. and ministry begins at 7:00 p.m.

A well-qualified teacher,speaker, counselor, preacher and TV host, Dr Swanberg is a solidcommunicator whose sly wit delivers life-enriching truths to theheart on wings of laughter.

Dr. Swanberg said, "Itry to bring people laughter, but my point is always that joyis a choice. Happiness is dependent on what happens, but joy isa choice. It takes an act of your will. And it takes dying toyourself and coming alive in the lives of others. I want to encouragepeople to have courage and be strong and go for it."

He is happily married toLauree and is the proud dad of two boys, Chad and Dustin. 'Swan'sPlace', his American national television show, is viewed by overone million households.

Tickets at the door: $15for Adults and $5.00 for Children.

Catboat Meeting

The Cayman Catboat Clubwill have its first meeting at Whitehall Bay Thursday, 24 January,from 5:30pm.

The 2002 race schedule willbe discussed at the meeting.

This year's schedule beginswith the ART at Governor's Race Saturday, 26 January, and theCatboat Club will be giving free catboat rides at the event offGovernor's Beach.

Triple C Walk/Run

Triple C School's AnnualFun in the Sun 5K Walk/Run will take place Saturday, 26 January,at 7:30 am at the Public Beach, Seven Mile Road.

Student walkers will beseeking sponsorship.

Adults may also be sponsoredor may register for $15 which includes a T-shirt and refreshments.

All proceeds go to the TripleC School Scholarship Fund.

There will be lots of randomprizes, plus prizes for students who raise a minimum of $100.A student volleyball game follows at 9:00am

Do you need a moment fromthe business of work to reflect for a while?

Then go to the 'oasis' for15 minutes of mid-week reflection sponsored by the Cayman IslandsArea Council every Wednesday beginning 6 February at 12:15 atthe Elmslie United Church.

Lunch will be availableand a small contribution is invited to cover cost.
