Governor toOpen Flower Show Saturday
The Garden Club of Grand Cayman holds its41st Annual Flower Show Saturday, 2 February, and Sunday at theLions' Centre.
This show, which is themed 'All Nationsas One' will be opened by the governor H.E. Mr Peter Smith andMrs Smith at 1 pm and is free of charge.
Flower Show Chairperson, Joanne Ross, promisesa lovely afternoon for persons to wander and enjoy the beautyof cut flowers, potted plants, and displays.
The theme of the show is intended to promoteunification of all nations in a search for world peace, and floraldesign categories include competitive displays titled ' FriendlyBorders', 'It's a beautiful World' and 'United Nations'.
The show's arrangements are intended toencourage aspiring flower arrangers to try their hand.
On Saturday the show runs until 6:00 pmand Sunday it begins at 12:30 pm and goes to 3:30 pm.
All members of the community are encouragedto participate by entering an artistic arrangement or by exhibitingplants and/or cut flowers.
