Keely Fastest,Holding Overall First Place Compass Fun Run Champ

The third and final race of the CompassFun Run Saturday, 26 January, saw the return of Tony Keely whoposted the fastest time in the series with 10.25.

Coming in second was Glen Holding with 10.68and Mick Bridgeland third with 10.69. Bridgeland also won hisage category.

Missing from this race was Mark Hydes whohad established himself as the favourite for the overall crownafter coming first in the second race, beating out Glen Holding,who had beaten him in the first race. With Mark Hydes missing,Glen Holding only had to finish in the top five to win the overalltitle, which he accomplished with a first place finish.

Lisa Hoptroff left nothing to chance inwinning the overall title after winning all three of the racesfor the female category.

Second overall was Anne Scaife, with PamLawrence finishing third.

Thirteen-year-old Shakeina Bush celebratedher selection to represent the Cayman Islands at the Junior WorldCross Country Championships in Dublin, Ireland by finishing fourthoverall in the female category.

The series was a huge success after havingover 120 participants.
