At a hearing in the Grand Court on Tuesday,22 January, Chief Justice Anthony Smellie, QC, formally admittedthree new Hunter & Hunter attorneys to the Bar in the CaymanIslands.
The Chief justice said that in view of theirextensive experience and academic achievements he could well understandwhy the firm would be keen to recruit them.

Mr Scott Elliott joins Hunter & Hunterfrom top London firm, Clifford Chance. With almost 11 years experiencein Real Estate law, gained in Canada and London, Mr Elliott willbe a valuable addition to the firm's Real Estate practice whichwas recently given another boost by Mr Norman Klein, who joinedHunter & Hunter in December. Having spent the last seven yearspractising locally, Mr Klein has extensive experience in all aspectsof commercial and residential real estate and construction projects.
Mr Anthony Menzies, an insurance law specialist,joins Hunter & Hunter from Clyde & Co in London. Mr Menzies'arrival will complement the firm's existing strengths in providingcorporate insurance advice to both traditional market and captiveinsurance clients, and will enable Hunter & Hunter to providethe most comprehensive insurance law practice on the island.
Also called to the Bar Tuesday was Ms GráinneO'Callaghan. Ms O'Callaghan hails originally from Ireland, butgained the majority of her experience at top 10 London firm, Allen& Overy, and at Olsens in Jersey. She joins Hunter & Hunter'scommercial practice, specialising in structured finance, securitisation,project and asset finance and mutual funds.
