Six DivingGreats Inducted to the Hall of Fame

Six of scuba diving's pioneers, Zale Parry,John J. Cronin, Bob Hollis, David Doubilet, the late Ivan Torsand Paul Tzimoulis were honoured as inductees to the InternationalScuba Diving Hall of Fame Wednesday, January 23rd at the HarquailTheatre.
The Hon. W. McKeeva Bush, Minister for Tourismalong with Miss Cayman, Shannon McLean, presented the inducteeswith locally designed trophies made of Caymanite (a semi-preciousstone found only in the Cayman Islands) and copies of the pictorialessay book, 'Moods of the Cayman Islands'.
Zale Parry is a women's diving trailblazerand television personality; John J. Cronin is the founder of PADI;Bob Hollis is president of the equipment company Oceanic USA;David Doubilet is an underwater photographer; and the late IvanTor; was an underwater photographer/cinematographer. Paul Tzimouliswas honoured as a surprise 6th inductee. Cayman's very own legendMr. Bob Soto, an inaugural inductee wrapped up the evening withclosing remarks.
This year marked the second induction ceremonyand plans are already underway for the future of the ISDHF events.The board of directors is scheduled to meet the Tourism Ministerfor a brainstorming session on future events.
