Staff DressDown for Charity Effort

British American Bank and Britam Insurancestaff recently donated CI$3000 to the Social Services LifelineFund and CI$1000 to the National Council of Voluntary Organizations(NCVO) after paying to dress down each week.

"Each staff member in the Bank, BritamInsurance and Western Union pays CI$5 each month into our 'dressdown' fund," said President and CEO Leonard Ebanks. "ThisCI$5 buys them the right to don their casual clothes on Fridays."

"It's really just a fun way to raisemoney for charity," continued Mr. Ebanks. "We chosethe Lifeline Fund and the NCVO as they both have a direct impacton our community."

The Lifeline Fund helps young mothers andchildren in need, and the NCVO funds a variety of community projectsincluding the Pine's Retirement Home, Caring Cousins and the NadineAndreas Children's Centre.

Britam Insurance also decided to forgo theirannual Christmas dinner and gift exchange, donating the moneyto charity instead. CI$500 was donated to Cayman Hospice Careand CI$475 to the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.

British American Bank, a subsidiary of Bahamas-basedFidelity Bank and Trust, offers personalized retail banking services,plus global cash transfer through Western Union.

Britam Insurance was established in theCayman Islands in 1982 and offers a wide range of personal andcommercial insurance lines.
