Stamps Releasedin Support of US Tragedy

The Cayman Islands demonstrated its supportfor people of the United States of America in the fight againstterrorism in a tangible way by launching a stamp observing the11 September, 2001, terrorist attack on New York and Washington.

On Tuesday, 22 January, his Excellency theGovernor Mr Peter Smith unveiled a $1 stamp dedicated to the USsuffering last year and for circulation here.

This stamp, which was unveiled in the Eastgrounds of the Government Administrative Building depicts theNew York landmark, the Statue of Liberty, in the foreground withthe crown of Her Majesty alongside the words 'Cayman Islands'.Then this country's flag flies behind partially covering the USflag. To the top right is the inscription 'In Remembrance 11thSeptember 2001'.
