Young Caymanian Wade Ebanks had cause tocelebrate recently when his logo was chosen to represent the CaymanIslands 500-year celebrations in 2003.
The year 2003 is the 500th anniversary ofthe first recorded history of the Cayman Islands. The Governmentis planning a full year of celebrations to mark the event witha variety of cultural, sporting and economic activities involvingall segments of the community.
Wade has worked as a graphic designer withregional marketing and communications firm BB&P since 1998."My brief was to come up with a logo which visually representedthe Cayman Islands and its 500-year milestone, and captured thespirit of the celebrations," explained Wade. "I'm reallyexcited to be a part of Cayman's 500th birthday."
BB&P's Business Manager Hilary McKenziecommented: "Wade is one of the most talented and intuitivedesigners we've ever had at BB&P. He really is a great assetto our team."
Born in Grand Cayman, Wade studied art duringschool and has attended many specialist design courses in Canadaand the UK.
BB&P provided the design of the logofree of charge after winning the contract to provide marketingsupport for the Quincentennial Celebrations Office.
