The Private Schools have cemented their relationship even further by agreeing to establish and implement a strong policy against drugs.

The schools have agreed that students who use drugs may be expelled from school immediately.

Each school, however, has determined its own procedure and the other options that may be required such as coun- seling or suspension.

All private schools have agreed on a student/parent contract affirming that students will remain drug free while in school.

Several schools have implemented entrance drug screening and ongoing drug tests on a regular basis.

"The secret to its success has been the tremendous support given by parents who are grateful for the strong position the school's have taken," said one school official.

Supt. Derek Haines of the Drugs Task Force has welcomed this commitment from the private schools.

"I am very pleased with this positive step, the counter drug effort is all about partnerships and the school/parent/student contract is an excellent example of this in action. I wish it every success."
