Attorney General Misses ExCo

Attorney General Mr. David Ballantyne, QC, was absent from the Executive Council (ExCo) meeting on Tuesday January 21.
Cayman Net News was informed that while the meeting was proceeding, Mr. Ballantyne was in his office.
It is not known why he was not at the meeting which was attended by the Elected ExCo members the Hon. McKeeva Bush, the Hon. Linford Pierson, the Hon. Gilbert McLean, Dr. the Hon. Frank McField and the Hon. Roy Bodden, and two Official Members, Chief Secretary the Hon. James Ryan and Financial Secretary the Hon. George McCarthy.
After meeting with the His Excellency the Governor Mr. Bruce Dinwiddy on Thursday January 16, the Elected Members of ExCo called for the termination of the Attorney General's appointment with immediate effect.
They also informed the Governor that they will no longer sit with the Attorney General in ExCo or the Legislative Assembly (LA) and that Solicitor General Mr. Sam Bulgin should be appointed as Attorney General so he would be able to attend ExCo meetings in that capacity.
