and Government Leader Responds to Baroness Amos
Leader of Government Business, the Hon. McKeeva Bush has written a letter to Baroness Valerie Amos stating that the Elected Members of the Executive Council (ExCo) find it "discomforting" that the United Kingdom is supporting Attorney General Mr. David Ballantyne.
In the letter dated January 21, 2003, Mr. Bush said that in most democratic countries, persons in the Attorney General's position would accept responsibility and immediately tender their resignations, opening the way for remedial action and a opportunity for steps to be taken to restore confidence in the system.
Mr. Bush said each day Mr. Ballantyne continues in his position, significantly more damage will be done to the financial industry.
