East End Surf Challenge 2003

Jason Smith of Team "Barely Legal", currently ranked first, charges ahead of his competitors during the first day of competition for the East End Surf Challenge 2003, held on January 12th.
Fans of watersports will be eager to watch the East End Surf Challenge 2003 on Monday, January 27, with races beginning at 1pm at the beaches opposite Pirate's Cove Bar. This race serves as the final day of competition, following the results from January 12, 2003.
More than CI $3,000 in cash and prizes are at stake among the highly competitive jet-ski racing teams. Featuring Cayman's top riders, the races start promptly at 1pm, with others following on the hour, each hour.
Bold waves and choppy seas of late surely set the backdrop for a challenging competition. Look for Jason Smith ("Barely Legal"), George Smith ("K-Mart"), Kenny Rankine ("Vibe 98.9 FM"), and Shane Edwards ("2 Frenzied"), ranked first to fourth respectively, to display some powerful action and keen manuevering.
Festivities begin with the East End Surf Jam Street Dance on Friday, January 24 hosted by the Pirate's Cove Bar, featuring music by Renegade Disco, Atom Force Disco and Projekk.
Tickets are available at Funky Tangs, Reflections and Pirates Cove Bar. Sponsors of the event offer local food, refreshments and music for a full day of enjoyment. The public is encouraged to come out and support the Surf Challenge, a non-profit event to benefit the East End community.
