Run up to Bill Rodgers run
Less than two months remain before U.S.distance running legend Bill rodgers returns to compete in GrandCayman after a fourteen year absence.
Rodgers, who won the New York and boston marathons four timeseach, still performs regularly on a world-class level in the mastersdivision at age 52.
The OUT TO HELL 'N BACK 10K is scheduled for Sunday, 17 September,15 7:00 am, and it will be interesting to see who will turn outto participate.
A cash prize is being offered to the first male and female residentfinisher's who participated in any of the seven events in whichBill rodgers appeared here in the 1980s.
Will the Barefoot Brigade take to the roads again? Will HerfaEbanks, Audrey Wellington, Sheree Ramsay, Charlotte Clarke, orTabitha Crowley take up the challenge? Will former young standoutsChadwick Webster or alexander Brown be on the starting line? Orwill veteran Denny Dilbert give it a whirl?
Possible male entrants from abroad include several former US Olympians,as well as some swift female runners, as well as other outstandingCaribbean competitors considering travel here for the activity.
Shirts and medals will be presented to all finisher's, along withtrophies for top overall and age-group entrants. All finisher'swill also receive other souvenirs of the race.
Practice runs with Bill Rodgers will be possible, and a seminarwill be conducted, in addition to other action on the weekend.

As the Olympic Games begin that same weekend, certain random prizeswill be distributed related to that event.
The more than one hundred local present residents, as well asformer officials, who took part in any of the races with BillRodgers, as well as all new faces, are encouraged to come on outto run, job, walk, or push prams at the race, and also to enjoyall other happenings.
