New Partner Appointed atDeloitte & Touche

Stuart Sybersma

The Partners of Deloitte & Touche (D&T)have announced that Mr Stuart K Sybersma was admitted as a Partnerin the firm.
In his new capacity, which became effective from July 1st, MrSybersma will have primary responsibility for operations of theFinancial Advisory Services Department, encompassing Restructuringand Insolvency, Fraud and Forensic Investigation and RegulatoryConsulting Service lines.

Mr Sybersma joined the local practice ona full time basis in January 1999. Prior to that he had been secondedto the Cayman firm from D&T Canada to assist with liquidationof the Bank of Credit and Commerce International ("BCCI").He returned to Canada in 1996 where he obtained his CharteredInsolvency Practitioner designation and qualified as a CanadianTrustee in Bankruptcy.
Since returning to Cayman, he has been heavily involved in theliquidations of BCCI, First Cayman Bank Limited and EuroBank CorporationLtd, as well as overseeing various viability studies, restructuringassignments and the voluntary winding up of numerous Cayman Islandsregistered companies and mutual funds.

He joins five other Partners in the Caymanpractice, namely, Mr. Ian A.N. Wight (Managing Partner), Mr. RichardE. Douglas (Senior Partner), Mr. Michael W. Pilling, Mr. GlenG. Wigney and Mr. William Walmsley.

Senior Partner Mr Richard Douglas said,"Stuart has extensive experience in complex fraud investigations,financial institution insolvency, and cross border asset tracingand recovery matters.

"He has also been involved in a widespectrum of assignments extending across all aspects of the Caymanfinancial services industry and is well positioned to advise ourclients on anti-money laundering best practices, know your customerdue diligence procedures, transaction monitoring, and identificationand reporting of suspicious transactions."

Mr. Sybersma currently serves as Chairmanof the Board of Trustees of the Chamber of Commerce Pension Planand is an executive member and past treasurer of the Cayman Prepand High School parent teachers association.
