HardWork Pays Off

Year-seven Set1 Students of George Hicks High School

Working hard has its rewards and for fiftyGeorge Hicks High School Students it did pay off. They were rewardeda trip to North Side by their Mathematics and English teachers,Mr Allom, Ms Hernandez, Ms Lalchan and Ms. Bryan.

These enthusiastic youngsters were accompaniedby their four teachers, Principal Ms. Adora Bodden ­Groomeand two parents on the trip that included a visit to the MasticTrail and to Mr Willey's Farm.

Everyone had the opportunity to see a partof Cayman that is not utilised by the populace. The 2-mile hike,which took some 2 1/2 hours, enabled the students to see muchof the flora; fauna and animals which they don't get to look atoften.

At Mr Willy's Farm they had an opportunityto see the farmers feed the Whistling Ducks and pigs.

The team then stopped for some refreshmentsand rested at the Spotts Dock before returning to the school.

This experience gave them a wider knowledgeabout the environment and the island.
