Dr. Ramon Lacanilao
The Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospitalhas announced appointment of a full time pediatrician, Dr. RamonLacanilao.
Born and raised in the Philippines he attended medical schoolat the University of the Philippines and completed an internshipU.P.-P.G.H. Medical Center in Manila.
Dr Lacanilao continued studies in the UnitedStates where he received specialty training in General Pediatricsat the Children's Hospital of the University of Missouri-Columbiaand earned outstanding evaluations, particularly in the fieldsof Neonatology, Endocrinology, Infectious Diseases, and AmbulatoryPediatrics.
He pursued further sub-specialty trainingas a clinical fellow in Pediatric Endocrinology at the SchneiderChildren's Hospital in New York and treated children with juvenilediabetes, thyroid diseases, growth hormone deficiency and otherhormonal problems.
He then worked as a locum tenens pediatricianin different clinics in Florida and Texas.
Additionally, Dr Lacanilao's work historyincluded a number of years as a Pediatric Consultant in Manitoba,Canada; management of a busy Regional Health Centre dealing withintensive care nursery and various pediatric cases in the Children'sward; and the physician representative to the Regional Child AbuseCommittee.
Dr. Lacanilao is licensed in the CaymanIslands, United States, Canada, and the Philippines and is certifiedby the American Board of Pediatrics.
