Cayman Loses and Wins atU-15 Cricket

As the International Cricket Council's WesternCaribbean Classic Under-15 competition continued here Bermudatriumphed over Cayman Monday but the local lads romped back toa convincing victory over the Bahamas Tuesday.

The matches involve only the three teamsand that competition ends today Wednesday, 26 July, after whichBermuda will remain for two more limited overs games against Caymanfor the Bank of Bermuda Cup and the Esso Standard Oil Cup.

Following a crushing defeat they handedto the Bahamas Sunday by scoring 242 runs and scuttling out theopposition for 26, Bermuda beat Cayman by three wickets Monday.

Batting first Cayman made 126 for 9 offtheir allotted 40 overs. Omar Willis top scored for Cayman with30 not out and Orville Perrier made 15. The local lads were reelingat 58 for 5 when Tyrell Cuffy, who scored 11, joined Willis ina 53 ­run partnership for their team to muster a respectabletotal.

Bowling for Bermuda Onandi Foggo took 2for 13 and Allan Douglas 2 for 16.

In their turn at the crease Bermuda knockedoff the runs in 37 overs to end with 128 for seven. Rodnet Trottscored 37 and Allan Douglas hit 30.

Bowling for Cayman William Quin took 5 for24 and Ricardo Roach 2 for 25.
Cayman made up for the loss to Bermuda by rattling up 198 for7 and forcing the Bahamas to 90 for 9 off their allotted 40 overs.

Ricardo Roach hit up 47 for Cayman and OmarWillis and Mark Chin scored 21 runs each.

Bowling for the Bahamas Mukesh Balikhrishnantook 2 for 40.

Batting for the Bahamas Marlon Burrell scored20 and Jonathan Barry 14.

Marlon Bryan took 4 for 9 for Cayman while11-year-old Chris Cowan took 1 for 12 in his first competitivegame.
