There is now a Cayman Islands one-stop shopInternet site where a web surfer can look through tourist information,a business directory, daily news from the local television stationCayman 27, stock quotes, upcoming events, get free classifiedads placed, free Hotmail-style email, then move on to any of the120 links available.
The website has recently been re-launchedas a full-blown web directory and portal for the Cayman Islands.
"Our website domain name, www.destination.kycontinues to be one of the top Cayman Islands websites on mostmajor search engines. We have capitalized on this by redesigningthe website and offering many new services to become a completeInternet gateway to the Cayman Islands," said Miss SiobhanByrne of Tower Marketing, who redesigned and operates the newportal.
She said it is already popular with overseasvisitors and locals alike, receiving an average 9,000 'hits' perday and with the new look and increased services to the localcommunity this number is likely to increase significantly.
According to Miss Byrne, a key feature ofthe new venture will be the website's partnership with other Caymancompanies such as Cayman27 and Internet Financial Services (IFS)to bring news and information to its visitors.
Mr. Jim Knapp of IFS, who provides technicalinfrastructure for the website said "Destination Cayman Islandshas taken the right approach from the beginning: by drawing onthe services of other Caymanian companies, they have constructeda complete Internet gateway to the Cayman Islands".
