Key TechnologySeminars for Cayman
As Cayman moves to fully embrace informationtechnology and use the Internet as the new medium for commerce,a locally owned company, Silvanaus Technologies and the InternationalCollege of the Cayman Islands (ICCI) are set to give the country'sentrepreneurs a push along the information highway with a seriesof seminars in which cutting edge industry operators will makepresentations and hold panel discussions.
The series of six seminars which begin from2 August at The Hyatt Regency hotel, runs to 6 September, featuresa keynote presentation by an executive of the world's leadinginformation software developer, Microsoft.
Among those slated to attend the seminarsand give insight to the information technology needs of the CaymanIslands and the direction to be taken are Hon Linford Pierson,Minister of Health and Information Technology, Hon Roy Bodden,Minister of Education.
Mr Pierson recently spoke extensively tothe Cayman business leaders about government's views on informationtechnology and informed them of initiatives to make the cost ofusing it cheaper.
Also speaking and stimulating discussionamong participants are decision makers from local and overseascompanies and organisations including, Biolink USA, Westcomm Jamaica,FocusFocus, Cable & Wireless, KMPG, Certeca, Ecayman Websites,Segoes, Internet Financial Services (IFS), Cayman Islands Chamberof Commerce, Women's Resource Centre, ICCI, Silvanaus Technologies,Community College of the Cayman Islands, Government Officials,Cayman Islands Education and more to be confirmed.
