CUC Partnerswith Agape and RCIP for Camp Hope

Following on the successfultwo-week summer camp, "Camp H.O.P.E." (Helping OthersPursue Excellence) which was held in July and August 2001, theAgape Family Worship Centre and the Royal Cayman Islands PoliceService, along with many community partners are finalizing activitiesfor this year's Camp H.O.P.E.

Anticipation for this year'sCamp, which will accommodate 250 children between the ages of5 to 16, runs high and there are only a limited number of spacesavailable for children aged 11 to 16 years. The Camp, which willcommence on Monday, July 29th and conclude on Friday, August 9th,takes place at the Agape Centre on Fairbanks Road (near TripleC School) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Mondayto Friday. There is a nominal registration fee of $25.00 per child,which will help to defray expenses for the two-week Camp.

Pastor Al Ebanks states,"We are very grateful for the kind and generous support ofour Community partners, such as CUC, who has agreed to be a majorsponsor again this year. Without the involvement and generosityof our corporate sponsors we would not be able to provide thisvaluable service to our community."

Sgt. Frank Brennen of theRCIP's Community Relations Department, is a co-coordinator ofthe summer camp. He remarked that, "Camp HOPE will provideparents with a healthy environment to leave their kids duringthe days. The Camp will offer spiritual, social and educationalactivities for its participants who will be able to take homesome valuable life lessons at the end of the two weeks."

Our Community Involvement Teamis proud to partner with Agape and the RCIP for their second consecutivesummer camp.

According to Pastor Al thereare various activities being coordinated for Camp participants,including electrical safety demos by CUC as well as presentationsfrom the National Drug Council, the Police and the Red Cross.Each day the Camp will include morning devotion and showings ofcharacter education videos designed to promote good citizenship,honesty and integrity. In addition, there will be arts and craftsand sporting activities to keep the energy level high.
