With reference to your editorial commenton Cayman Airways in issue 213, a few points may be of interest.Airways Magazine internet site www.airwaysnews.com stated thatCancun Express and Island Air had proposed a joint service betweenGrand Cayman and Cayman Brac/ Little Cayman that would replacethe service provided by Cayman Airways, which loses on estimated$2 million a year. Another alternative would be to replace oneof the ageing jets with a modern twin engine turboprop, whichcould also be used for the Kingston Service of which use of Jetis marginal.
Both of these proposals make economic senseand would reduce operating costs. However, I feel the 'head inthe sand' mentality will continue to prevail!
