Dr. Guy Harvey's 'Portraitsfrom the Deep' makes its Debut at Hobbies & Books

Hobbies and Books has announced the publicationof Dr. Guy Harvey's new book "Portraits from the Deep."Their Piccadilly Bookshop and Books by the Bay at Grand Harbourwill be hosting events to celebrate Dr. Harvey's new book.

This evening will include an author presentation,talk about his work and on-going research of Grand Cayman's stringrays,video showing of his underwater productions, and an auction tobenefit the National Trust's Mahogany Forests Fund of a signed,framed print from the sold out edition of Silver Kings, valuedat CI$900. Guy Harvey clothing and prints will also be available.

A native of Jamaica, Guy Harvey is a residentof the Cayman Islands. He has always been fascinated with thecreatures of the sea. His formal training includes a Doctoratein Fisheries Science from the University of West Indies. His naturalgift to recreate marine life propelled him into a highly successfulcareer as a wildlife artist and photographer.

As an ardent conservationist, Guy worksclosely with many conservation organizations to help protect globalfishery resources. He maintains his art studio in Grand Cayman,where he lives with his wife Gillian and their two children, Jessicaand Alex.
