Sixteen young Caymanian girls between theages of four years old and 19 years old, will be up against 200contestants from the rest of the world in the 41st World's OurLittle Miss Finals in Dallas Texas from July 27 to August 1.
Pageantryis all about fun. The girls take a break from coaching.
National director Jennifer West led thefirst ever Cayman Islands royalty to the finals where they areexpected to perform well.
The delegation of 42 traveled as a groupfrom Grand Cayman to Houston, Texas on Cayman on Continental.The group will return to Cayman on August 3rd.
The Cayman contestants were crowned April20th, 2002, at the first annual Cayman's Our Little Miss Pageant.
In a statement, Miss West said she wouldlike to extend special thanks on behalf of the contestants, theirfamilies, the companies and individuals who supported the girlsin making this experience possible.
"There is no greater feeling than knowingthat even in the toughest of times, people are still willing togive to our children and allow them opportunities to fulfill theirdreams, Ms. West said.
Although this would be the first World'sFinals in which Cayman will be competing, Ms. West is confidentthat the country will bring home many prestigious world crowns,titles and awards.
"Our girls have been training veryhard and have received coaching from many experienced personson the island, including past Miss Cayman title-holders, professionalmodel and dancers," she added.
