Connectionfrom South Sound Rd. to Close 1 August
The Public Works Department(PWD) notifies the public that the connection from South SoundRoad onto Shamrock Road will be closed beginning Thursday morning,1 August for a period of four weeks in order to continue workon the Grand Harbour roundabout.
Right turns from Crewe Roadonto South Sound Road, starting at Gunters Furniture, will notbe possible. Motorists leaving Grand Harbour who need to enterSouth Sound may immediately enter the westbound lane or use theSilver Oaks roundabout to access South Sound Road.
When the roundabout is complete,motorists coming from South Sound Road will have permanent, safeaccess onto Crewe Road, Shamrock Road, and to Grand Harbour.
People travelling East onCrewe Road who need to access the last section of South SoundRoad, including Carriage House and By the Sea, should use theSilver Oaks roundabout and Old Crewe Road.
South Sound traffic comingfrom George Town will be diverted onto Old Crewe Road and SilverOaks roundabout.
The Public Works Departmentapologises for any inconvenience and requests that motorists slowdown and drive with care an attention when passing through thework zone. Watch for signs indicating diversions and temporarysurfaces as the roundabout takes shape.
