Some have dared to say thatwe will not reach this far ... yet we ourselves know we have yetfurther to go.
How could just two persons - sometimes doing 18 to 20 hourdays ... our dedicated Production Manager, Debbie Hand and yourstruly pull it off? What has been accomplished based on previouspractical hands-on experience really require a minimum of 15 persons- yet, without the necessary work permits for skilled help, asprinkling of contributors and cautious advertisers we have resolved- we can do it.
What began as a spiritual nudge, has blossomed into a formidablevoice for the Cayman Islands community... and now, hundreds ofoverseas readers. Our website has experienced over 13,000 hitsin less than four months ... and we are getting less and lessreturns from our 8000 weekly print run of newspapers.
To top all of this off, we were able to produce the inserted special36-page supplement to commemorate the official opening of the18-bed private Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital.
We could not have accomplished so much in so little time - hadit not been for the treasured letters, leads and articles receivedfrom across-the-board readers, writers of sports and communitynews.
Government Information Services, provides - us with much - forwhich we are thankful current Press Releases to disseminate toour readers. Sellers of our newspapers have given us visible spaceto display the publication, and charter as well as regular andnew advertisers are relishing in the opportunity we present asa strong, alternative medium. Not as a favour ... simply becausewe are well read.
To say 'Thank you' is not sufficient, yet we must say it is allthat we can offer for now. We trust that you will continue tosupport Cayman Net News.

As a medium which promotes transparency among our Government, business, social and Christian leaders, we are subjected to beinginundated with all forms of requests. From investigating supposedconflicts of interest among public officials to the 'religious'preferences of some churches.
We have even been accused of printing stories for reward ...andhave in fact been approached to publish reports for a sum - anoffer we firmly refused.
Anyone who knows of the 32 years of experience of pioneering andpublishing all forms of print media of this author ... and theintroduction of television as well as other muti-media facetsfor the Cayman Islands ... should remind those who do not know... our resourcefulness in presenting the news is not for sale.
We must and will keep this independent stance, if we are to continuegarnering the respect for our readers.
There is no doubt that with Cayman Net News we have revolutionisedthe presentation - in content and in production - of news in theCayman Islands.
Do we deserve to share in the plethora of advertising dollarsnow spent in the community? You bet we do. Advertising is thelifeblood of every publication. As a growing child, we too mustbe fed so that we can gain and retain the strength required tocontinue in our mission.
Why? Because there is a need ... for Cayman Net News ..that's why.
