Citizens B.O.N.D. to win
Police and Church 'B.O.N.D.'to Win Back Troubled Neighbourhood
Plans are in the works for quite a significant event on Sunday, the 9th of July, 2000.
This event, which is planned bythe Agape Family Worship Centre is called BOND meaning - "BlessOur Neighbor Day" - which also communicates and incorporatesthe concept of breaking down the many walls of division whichexist in community, relating to gender, race, age, nationalityand prejudice.
"Our goal is very simply to bridge those divisions and cometogether for the common cause of blessing our neighbors and workingtogether to make our community a better, safer and more harmoniousplace to live," says Pastor Al Ebanks.
One demonstration of this goal being achievable is the fact thatAgape Family Worship Centre (Agape) and the Royal Cayman IslandsPolice (RCIP) have joined in partnership in a determination tomake this event a success.
Last Saturday, the 27th of May, members of Agape and the RCIPvisited just about every home in the Windsor Park/Templeton PineLakes Area and delivered information and invitation letters requestingresidents to join them on Sunday the July 9th. Other areas ofthe island are also scheduled to be visited in the near future.
Among activities planned are a special church service at AgapeFamily Worship Centre at 10:00 a.m. on the same date. There willalso be special presentations to members of our community. Complimentarylunch, activities for the entire family and recognition of RCIPfor the invaluable role they are playing in our community areamong plans for this very special day.
"One highlight, will be the confirmation of a Pledge to be"my brother's keeper and a commitment to treat others withdignity, honour and respect, and a time to meet with and interactwith Police and others in authority. These are just a samplingof some of the plans being actively pursued at this time"- confirmed Pastor Al.
Anyone interested in requiring further information on this excitingevent should contact Pastor Al Ebanks of Agape on 949-2539 orInspector Adrian Seales of the RCIP on 914-2924.
