Cayman Brac Tib-Mart to Closeafter 47 years

The shareholders of K.P. Tibbetts Co., Ltd.hereby announce that after many months of deliberation and assessment, they have reached the decision to close the retail business operationsof Tib-Mart on July 15, 2000, except for the Tib-Mart Texaco GasStation. The gas station will continue to be operated and willbe expanded under the ownership and management of Nat Tibbetts.

The Thompson Shipping Agency will also continue under the managementof Nat Tibbetts. These two areas of the business should continueto contribute to the economy of the Watering Place district ofCayman Brac. The company's building will be available for lease.

Some factors that have contributed to these decisions are thatthe major shareholder, Mrs. Marjorie Tibbetts, widow of founderCapt. Keith Tibbetts, has retired from the day-t0-day operations,as well as that most of the other shareholders have diverse businessinterests and commitments elsewhere.

The loyal support and patronage of the company's long-time customersis sincerely appreciated and any inconvenience caused is deeplyregretted.

A closeout cash & carry sale of all goods in stock in Tib-Martwill commenced on Wednesday, June 21, 2000.
