Leos and Lionsof the Cayman Islands Strike Gold at Convention in Jamaica

The Leo Club of Grand Caymanand the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens were both recently singledout as exhibiting true excellence in terms of organizational skills,efficiency and quality of projects at Zone, Regional and Districtlevels in the Caribbean.
At the Multiple DistrictConvention held in Jamaica last month, the Leo Club of Grand Caymandid everyone proud and especially its parent Club, the Lions Clubof Grand Cayman, when it was named the most outstanding Leo Clubin Sub-District 60B.
Apart from the Cayman Islands,this Sub-District includes Jamaica, U.S Virgin Islands, BritishVirgin Islands, Anguilla, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten, St.Kitts, Nevis, Montserrat, Antigua, Dominica, Barbados, St. Lucia,St. Vincent and Grenada.

Leo Secretary Cherryl Moorewas named top Secretary and the Leo Club also walked away fromthe Convention with awards for outstanding use of InformationTechnology and Administrative Efficiency. The guidance of theLions Club of Grand Cayman was noted by the Zone Chairman, whoawarded Lion Stephen Scott MJF most outstanding Leo Advisor inrelation to his dedicated work with the Leos of Grand Cayman.

Lion PresidentBazell-Taylor MJF and 1st Vice President Lion Cynthia Chukwueze,both of the Tropical Gardens Club receive the Malcolm Kirwan Questfor Excellence Trophy from District Chairman & Trainer, LionMilton Pinnock MJF and Past Council Chairman, Lion Malcolm KirwanMJF.
While the Lions Club ofSaba was named the most outstanding Lions Club of the Year inthe Sub-District, the ladies of the Tropical Gardens Lions Clubshone. These dynamic lady Lions brought home trophies for RegionalClub of the Year, Quality Project Award for the Year, Award forBest Use of Information Technology by a Lions Club, Most InvolvedClub in Sub-District 60B, Children Services Award for Most ImpactingProject (Scranton After-School Program), and the prestigious MalcolmKirwan Quest for Excellence Award also in relation to the ScrantonAfter School Program.
Additionally, Lion PatriciaMcField MJF and Lion Patricia Bazell-Taylor MJF were recognizedfor true excellence as outstanding Secretary and President, respectivelyand the Club's public relations program was specially commended.
The Convention saw LionEdgar "Bobby" Norville MJF of the Bridgetown Lions Clubin Barbados being elected District Governor for 2002-03 underthe theme "Passing on the Love of Lionism through Service".
Spokespersons for the Lionsfamily in Grand Cayman indicated that "the Lions and Leosof Grand Cayman and Tropical Gardens remain committed to qualityservice."
