Sherry Robinson, Chair of the Rotary CentralPR Committee, states that " Life is what you make it however, often we are hindered in our efforts to make our livesmove in the right direction because of a lack of social and professionalskills. Without this basic knowledge we can limit our abilitiesto walk through the doors of opportunity when they are openedto us because we don't feel that we can adequately meet the challenge.Confidence equals success in today's competitive job marketplace."

She continued: "The JUMPSTART seminarscan help young people foresee the types of situations that requirecool thinking and proper etiquette. The right qualifications arenecessary to get you to the interview but the interview processmeans "selling" whom you are and what you can bringto your potential employer by virtue of the way you present yourself.Young women and young men equally need to "polish" theseskills to broaden their horizons of opportunity. No matter howoften trends change, being a gentleman or a lady never goes outof fashion and young people who are about to enter the work forceor who simply wish to improve their social skills can benefitfrom the multi-faceted JUMPSTART agenda."

Ms. Robinson additionally noted that RotaryCentral hopes to make this an annual programme with the intentof increasing the number of seminars and participants yearly. The course fee is $30 including the formal dinner on the Saturdayevening.
