Tortuga's New Duty Free andCake Factory

Tortuga Rum Company invites all who workand visit downtown Georgetown to enjoy a taste of old fashionedCaymanian hospitality.
The Tortuga Cake Factory, the company's18th retail outlet, has opened at the corner of Harbour Driveand Boilers Road overlooking the scenic Caribbean waterfront.The company's newest location is a cute Caymanian-style cottage,set in a traditional sand garden planted with palms and bougainvillea,surrounded by a white picket fence. Outdoor benches and umbrella-shadedtables offer visitors a relaxing oasis in Grand Cayman's busycapital. It's an ideal place to take a refreshing break and enjoya variety of delicious snacks.
The air-conditioned facility features aconvenient self-serve snack bar with a state of the art coffeemachine that brews genuine Blue Mountain Coffee from freshly groundbeans. Fountain machines offer chilled tropical fruits drinksincluding mango and passion fruit and cold soft drinks are available.To go with your coffee or cold drink, you can choose from sixkinds of pastries; Jamaican Tastee Patties (available beef orchicken) and West Indian meatloaf rolls, all baked fresh daily.Other treats include soft frozen yogurt and ice cream.
The new Rum Cake Factory is both a touristattraction and much-needed expansion of Tortuga's commercial bakeryfacilities to keep up with the growing local and internationaldemand for Tortuga Rum Cakes. Tortuga's third bakery is similarto the company's Turtle Farm location, which has become a popularstop for island tours. The George Town bakery features a huge30-pan commercial oven, vacuum-sealing machine and complete productionfacilities, so cakes are ready for immediate sale or export rightfrom the premises. A large glass-window viewing area lets visitorswatch cakes being baked while enjoying complementary samples offive flavors of Tortuga Rum Cake.
The "Taste of the Caribbean" retailsection is stocked with Tortuga Rum Cakes; a complete selectionof Tortuga's gourmet products and a wide variety of Caribbeansauces and seasonings. Visitors will also find attractive giftitems including Tortuga's popular Tortuga Rum Fever & CaribbeanParty Cookbook, Caribbean music CD's, colorful island T-shirtsand other fine souvenirs.
Now open Monday through Saturday from 7a.m. until 5 p.m., the Tortuga Cake Factory is fully accessibleto handicapped and wheel chair bound visitors.
The Tortuga Cake Factory does not sell retailor duty free liquor. Cruise ship passengers can order a completeselection of Tortuga Rums, Liqueurs and other duty free liquorsat Tortuga's "Chocolate Box" location on North ChurchStreet, just north of Elmslie Memorial Church and the cruise shipterminal. Fans of Caribbean music should visit Tortuga's CaribbeanRhythms store on Fort Street in George Town, just north of FortGeorge national monument.
