Education Minister Hon. Roy Bodden is windingup his get-acquainted tour of the school system with visits toprivate schools.
Accompanied by representatives from theMinistry and the Department of Education, the minister is meetingwith principals, touring classrooms and chatting with teachersand students.
Between January and March Mr. Bodden visitedTruth for Youth, Faulkner and Wesleyan academies, and Triple "C"School as well as Cayman Prep and High School.
During each visit, he discussed such issuesas student population, staff levels, academic and support programmesand plans for expansion.
Commenting on his decision to include theseschools in his roster of familiarisation visits Mr Bodden said:"privately owned education providers are still a part ofthe education system. They offer an invaluable service to a significantnumber of the population and must be made to feel that they area part of the education community."
The minister intends to schedule visitsto St. Ignatius Prep and High Schools and First Baptist ChristianSchool at the end of the present session of the Legislative Assembly.
In December, all private primary and secondaryschools had received a letter requesting that they schedule avisit by the Minister to their campus. Most schools accommodatedthe request.
