How sweet it is! For those of us who missed out on the most explosivebatting display in the Cayman Islands this weekend in second divisionaction will no doubt be sorry.
Horace " Blacker" Dailey witha magnificent double century (203 runs) totally destroyed theParamount Carpets attack at the West Bay School field on Saturday.With 13 sixes and 24 fours scored in 22 overs, Dailey led Deloitte& Touche International to victory over Paramount Carpets bya massive 269 runs. D&T recorded the largest total to dateof 408 runs for 8 wickets.
The last time a double century was recordedwas by Pearson Best in 1996 at the same field in West Bay.
"Courtney Young told me we needed theruns so, I did my best. I am very happy to have batted such ahigh number," said Dailey.
Other good contributions came from JoeyHamilton with 49 runs and Brain Maynard 33.
Not to be out-done Schools "the GenerationNext" recorded their first victory for the season defeatingCable & Wireless by four wickets. With three wickets fromAbali Hoilett and Omar Bryan, Schools limited C&W to 132 runs.Joseph Kirkconnell displayed great form scoring 32 runs. Keepinga steady head, Ryan Ebanks guided his team home to victory getting20 not out.
Health Services joined in the victory group.Leighton Houghton recorded his third half-century in three matchesas Health Services overwhelmed CRE (Crewe Road Esso) by six wicketsat Smith Road Oval on Saturday.
