She added: "We are extremely proudof the progress our youth have made over these 15 years. Somehave gone on to become Miss Cayman and those to whom past governmentsgave scholarships, have pursued their courses and come back qualifiedand well rounded citizens.
"We strive to give all our young ladiesfrom babies to adulthood, the guidance and encouragement we wouldgive our own children. The rewards are in the satisfaction ofwatching them grown to full maturity.
We have had past overall winners bring theirdaughters and start them off in our program. That's what thisprogram is all about."
She said that the success of this programis owing to the fact that the theme is the total development ofour young ladies. "The stress is not on beauty or how expensivea wardrobe is provided, but on natural beauty, which means theinner self not falsified. We stress proper poise, deportment, stage presentation and the development of a talent which is welldone and entertaining. Also a sensible selection of wardrobe whichwill compliment the young lady without being over done. The veryyoung are encouraged to use make up very sparingly, if at all.The older contestants have the ability to be a bit more maturein this regard," she said.
"All in all we try to make this a familyoriented program. I travel to the international with my girlswho cease to compete among themselves, but as a team representingthe Cayman Islands. I therefore give assistance to all in grooming, dress and in interview skills. We are always complimented on the"Nice Cayman delegation" and I am grateful to the mothersand fathers who also travel to support our delegation. This yearwe have 44 contestants and as in previous years have the pleasureof taking away a delegation of at least twenty contestants andtheir families. We outnumber some states in their homeland."
Celeste Broderick said that apart from theCinderella program, the organisation also conducts a modelingand Cameo Girl pageant which some of the Cinderella girls choseto also take part in.
