"Travestyof Justice" against the Sister Islands

Dear Sir

It grieves my spirit to the core each timeI read another "Travesty of Justice" against the SisterIslands, and the blatant way it is done. I was born in LittleCayman, and to see that the National Airline is planning to serviceanother country while cutting down on the Jet Service to OUR OWNCOUNTRY, is enough for all of us to get on our knees and praysomebody out of a job.

In the article about the planned changes,it is stated that Island Air has been making money while CaymanAirways has been losing money on its Brac runs...or so they claim.Well let us air some news that most people don't know about.

1. Island Air has been collecting their"over-priced" fares and paying NO landing fees to Government,or to anyone on whose property they have been landing all theseyears. At least no monies have been paid that is admitted. Perhapsan investigation is in order to determine if money has been passingunder the table to certain individuals while others went without.

2. A meeting was held with his Excellency,Governor Smith, in July of 2000 with a few of the owners of theproperty on which planes have been landing "for free".Present at that meeting was Mr. Truman Bodden, who at that timewas responsible for the Portfolio of Aviation and CAL. Also presentwas Hon. Juliana O'Connor Connolly, who made notes throughoutthe entire meeting. Six things were agreed upon that day. To date,no feedback from that meeting has been given to the owners, andthey have leaned over backwards to assure air service for LittleCayman.

We want the best for the Sister Islandsas well as for Grand Cayman, and before CAL cuts the Jet runs, and is partner to an "outrageous travesty of justice"a closer look should be taken into Island Air's books.

Thank you for your time and space.

N. D. Oyog (Bodden)
