The Cayman IslandsAmateur Athletic Association recognized the celebration of WorldAthletics Day with a presentation of several track and field eventsat the Truman Bodden Sports Centre.Scheduled to be offered were a number of sprint, walking, distance,and relay races, as well as a competition in the discuss throw.
Winners of events were eligible to have their names placed withthe names of other regional winners. From that placement, oneboy and one girl from each geographical region will be selectedto attend the World Championships of Track and Field in 2001.
