An Open Challengeto Quit Drugs

Dear Sir:

Thank you for publishing this testimony, which I am happy to share with great happiness, joy and, of course, peace.

It all started innocently, drinking andpartying on the beach during which I also smoked Ganja.I was then introduced to cocaine in the powder form; later I triedthe Rock Cocaine.

That type of behaviour, however, destroyedmy family and myself. I even spent fourteen months in prison.Even though I have been through all of the above, I still couldnot stop. It was because I really didn't want to.

Then, one day I knew that if I did not gethelp I would not be around for long. I then called some of thewonderful people in my life and they helped me get to "TeenChallenge" in Nassau Bahamas.

I spent eight months there, in a wonderfulChristian-based programme. I graduated with no urge for even cigarettes.

I have been reformed and I am free at last.I will be working as a volunteer in the programme for a long whileand plan to go back to school sometime in the near future.

I call upon all of the people living inthe daily nightmare to make a proper commitment to stop livingthe lie of drugs. Your families and our churches will help youwith the plane ticket and small admission fee.

Please stop the destruction and start theupward path.

Call Peter van der Bol, a dedicated volunteerof Teen Challenge at 947-6465, he will fill you in on the details.

I intend to remain, in his service,

Damian Eldemire
