'Voot' O'Garro
"He is a very dedicated individual"says Tony Scott, who has been involved with basketball at alllevels in these islands, for as long as many can remember.
Tony was commenting on the valiant effortsof the Cayman Islands National Basketball Coach, Victor 'Voot'O'Garro, who has been the mainstay of the development of Basketballin the Cayman over the past six years.
Originally from Trinidad, Coach Voot's dedicationhas him up and about, beginning with training for the NationalWomen and Men's Basketball teams, from 5:30 a.m. on most days.
His involvement in the sport, particularlywith the youngsters in Primary Schools, teenagers and young adultskeeps him on the go at times until and past 10:30 p.m. on manynights.
Appearing not to tire and abounding withpatience, Coach Voot has contributed tremendously to the Sportof Basketball in the Cayman Islands in a very big way.
Married to Angie, herself a basketball andnetball player, they have three sons and a daughter, all who areexcellent players, of the sport of their choice - and their Dad's the game of Basketball.
