Environment and Development

Dear Sir,

It is true to say that we have to be environmentallyconscious when development is taking place, however, we also haveto think of the benefits of the development for the people ofthe Cayman Islands, in general. The environment can exist withoutdevelopment but the people cannot survive without continued growthand development, therefore, it appears to me that the people shouldcome first.

I refer to a recent letter in the Compasssigned by the Hon. McKeeva Bush and I would like to speak outand highly commend him on the approach he has taken with referenceto newly proposed developments. If various organizations are leftalone, the island will come to a grinding halt and this must notbe allowed to happen.

Keep up the good work Mr. McKeeva, as everyyear we have more and more young Caymanians coming out of schooland it is indeed imperative that local employment can be providedto them.
