Families Discover Fun, Foodand Fellowship at Family Fair Day

The Pink Ladies' Family Fair Day, on DiscoveryDay, Monday 21 May, quite a success this year, took place at theLion's Club Centre.

Starting at 11a.m., the Governor, Mr. PeterSmith, accompanied by Mrs. Smith, officially opened the eventwhich benefits several non-profit organization organizations.

Mrs. Sandie Wilson, Director of the PinkLadies' Volunteer Corp, was quite busy making sure everythingwent well, for this very special day.

In a brief interview with the Cayman NetNews, Ms. Wilson said: "For many years, the Family Fair Daywas held downtown in George Town, until it died down, due to lackof volunteers. However, last year it resurrected with the moveto this location at the Lions Centre."

She said that the Fair has allowed manynon-profit organizations to participate once again, in an effortto raise funds which will go directly back into the community.

Many of the facilities to be benefited includethe NCVO's Nursery, the Miss Nadine's Foster Home, Preschools,Scholarship and Welfare Funds and S.O.S, which is a telephonesupport line.

Ms. Wilson also stated that there are plansto build a new up-graded Foster Home. "I am quite happy toconfirm that permission has been granted for us to build thismuch needed home".

Also present were the Kiwanis Club Members,Pink Ladies and Rotary Club Members, as well as other organizations.
This year's Family Fair Day was a fun-filled event for everyone.
