Concert toFund Youth Gospel Work
A Friday evening spiritualconcert will raise funds for two teams of young people -- the"Youth With A Mission" team, and the "Jesus AndMe" musical group -- who will be taking spiritual messagesoverseas in song, word and deed.
The fund-raising varietyconcert will be held next Friday (31 May) at the Family Life Centre,Church of God on Walker's Road. It will feature local artists,from children to adults, and promises a night of family entertainment.Billed to perform are local music groups including Alpha, Cutlass,the Church of God Children's Choir, Gospel Defenders, and theElmslie Dancers. Admission is $5.00 and prizes will include acolour television and cash.
The "Youth With A Mission"and "Jesus And Me" groups, totalling some 40 young peopleand leaders, will fly to Washington DC to attend music trainingsessions in July. The "Jesus And Me" team will holdmusical performances there, before flying to Disney World in Orlando,Florida. The group's musical appearances will be part of the DisneyMusic Days programme; these performances were made possible afterthe local group sent an audition video to Disney World, and wereaccepted for participation.
After Washington, the "YouthWith A Mission" team leave for mission work in Jamaica. Therethey will assist with youth summer camps and street evangelism.
