Carnival Batabano: Vulgar is in eye of the beholder

Dear Sir,

Carnival is not a religious get together. It is something that calls for wining and grinding. If there is someone that doesn't want to see this kind of stuff, stay at home. I stress, stay at home.

I've been to carnival celebrations in other parts of the world and they are enjoyed by millions of people because they are something for the public to enjoy. I've even been to New Orleans for the Mardi Grass and it's the same thing.

The only thing I see that is wrong is that it should be for the whole day and not just for two hours.

The problem is the traffic jam. By the time some people get here, it is all over. It has happened to me on many occasions.
I hope that some of these so-called Christians stick to their church and leave the carnival alone and stop writing letters in the papers. They watch and enjoy the wining and grinding then go home and complain. Why watch if you are going to complain? They should bow their heads in shame for even being there. Shame, Shame, Shame.

Edward Rankine
