New police patrols nab church vandal

The recent increase of police patrols and high visibility approach, including senior officers patrolling, has so far been successful and an incident overnight Wednesday highlights this success.

Around 4.50am last Thursday morning, a male suspect was apprehended by Detective Superintendent Ken Hall attempting to break into church premises in the Old Crewe Road area of George Town.

After a struggle, the Detective Superintendent, who was supported by the arrival of a nearby police unit, detained the man. The suspect was subsequently arrested and conveyed to George Town Police Station where the matter is now under investigation.
